This weekend I have the amazing opportunity to speak at NewHopeChurch.tv!

I absolutely love the staff and the people of New Hope and God is truly using them to change lives all over the planet!

New Hope is based out of the South Houston/Pearland Texas area and has a total of 5 campuses…

• The 288 Campus
• The East Campus
• Alvin Campus (To be launched soon)
• The Haiti Campus
• The Internet Campus

The Senior Pastor of NewHopeChurch.tv is the one and only Pastor Tim Liston.  Tim is an amazing man of God who has been faithful to plant spiritual seeds in this Pearland area year after year!

So Tim called a while back and asked me to help him out with a parenting/family series at NewHope called 6750.

6750 is the approximate number of days in 18 years…which is about how much time we have to help prepare our children for life on their own.

Tim asked…I said YES!

So this weekend I will be bringing a message entitled..

THE 2 PROMISES OF AN EPICPARENT!!

A disgusting tragedy has hit our small town of Steamboat Springs, Co!

This is a tragedy that most parents “think” will never happen to their family.  This is a tragedy that shatters souls, dreams and lives!  This is a tragedy that has the ability to rock an entire community!  I also believe that this is a tragedy that causes our God to rage with Holy anger!!

“But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be

thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck.”  Mark 9:42

So here’s the story…

John Holland Brothers, Jr. is suspected and awaiting trial in my “snow globe of paradise town”,  Steamboat Springs, Co..  He is awaiting charges for sexually assaulting one child on 8 different occasions while he was teaching at Christian Heritage School. (more…)

Today is a special day at EpicParent, because I am going to introduce you to a friend of mine that just gets how to tap into a teen’s heart!  If you have younger kiddos, don’t click away from the page, because you also will be challenged in a very profound way.

So, our writer for today is the one and only Mr. Scott Volltrauer…

Scott and his better half, Amy, have been married for 9075 days and counting.  They have two kiddos, Shannon and Josh, and they live in Brooklyn Park, MN. Since the late 80′s Scott has taught, coached and counseled teens and their parents with a great organization called TreeHouse.

I think one of the aspects that I admire about Scott the most  is his passion and desire to help people  love God…and love others with God’s love.

The Bully Project

This weekend I took Team Sprad to see the hottest, controversial, family movie of the year…Bully.

I guess “family movie” in a traditional sense is not what you should expect, but it’s a “family movie” in the sense that it’s a MUST SEE for the whole fam.  Bully was full of cussing, suicide themes and sheer rude dog, spit in your face meanness and that’s exactly why the whole fam should see it.
