My youngest son’s name is Tifton Jack, AKA The Jackhammer, and he came home from school one day last year screaming to the top of his lungs…

“Dad, God talked to me today!” 

“I was walking down the hall, I saw this kid who didn’t have any friends and God told me to sit down next to him and be his friend.”

“And I did it.”  “I sat down next to him.”  “I invited him to sit at my lunch table.”  “And my friends became his friends.”

So…

Mom and Dads, the second most important back to skool convo you should have with your kiddos is…

LISTEN FOR THE WHISPER OF GOD

Last year, on the way to school, Team Sprad said a prayer that we would typically pray each and every day.  It went a little something like this…

“God I pray that you would whisper to us today.  I pray that you would whisper and show us who we need to reach out to.  Whisper to us and show us who is hurting.  Whisper to us and show us who feels unloved.  Whisper to us and show us who desperately needs a friend.”

We would pray that prayer each day and Team Sprad would walk into school EXPECTING to hear the whisper of God.
