URGENT: 2 YOUNG EPIC MOMMA’S WITH CANCER NEED YOUR PRAYER

This past year I have written a couple of post’s asking you to pray for two different mothers that are struggling with cancer.

Today’s post is to give you an update on these incredible ladies…

STACEY SLATON:  My friend Stacey is an amazing lady, wife and mom to two beautiful young girls.  Several months ago she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic and Liver cancer.  I will never forget the day that she was diagnosed…we were all shocked, stunned and heartbroken to say the least.  Since the initial diagnosis quite a few things have changed.  The Doc’s found out that the cancer was not pancreatic but rather liver and bio duct cancer.  Over the past few months Stacey has had two different combinations of chemo and each scan showed more growth and new lesions on the liver after the treatment.  The last scan was two weeks ago, and the Doc’s found new growth.  So yesterday Stacey had her first treatment of a third combination of chemo.  This is a total of eight rounds of chemotherapy.

SUMMER KEMPFER:  December of 2011 my friend, Summer Kempfer, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical cancer.  Jodie and I have been friends with the Kempfers’ for years and actually had the opportunity to lead Summer and Jeremy to Christ several years ago.  As with Stacey, when Summer was diagnosed with cancer…it literally rocked our world.   As you can imagine, a ton has happened since the initial diagnosis.  Summer has been through a few different chemo treatments, which seemed to  have had very little effect on the cancer.  So in late August, Summer underwent a significant surgery.  The Doc’s decided to surgically remove the cancer.  Here is an excerpt from Summer’s Caring Bridge site that explains the result of the surgery.

“They were able to remove all the cancer except for a few “kernals of rice” that they will get with Chemo.  They removed her kidney, gallbladder, spleen, part of her liver, and all of the effected lymph nodes including the one behind her diaphragm that showed up as a spot on her lung last night.”

Since the surgery, Summer has been in and out of ICU.  She has been in for another surgery and has found herself in a couple of situations where the Doc’s just weren’t sure if she was strong enough to make it through.  Today she is doing a little better but there are still a couple of complications.

Stacey and Summer are both truly incredible women.  They are young (in their 30′s) have young kiddos and are desperate for a miracle and supernatural move of God.

The reason for the post today is to ask you to pray.

I am asking you to place their names in a highly visible place (so you will remember to pray) and pray for them every day.

Here is how you can pray…

• Pray for supernatural healing
• Pray for their husbands (Jeremy Kempfer and Greg Slaton)
• Pray for their kiddos
• Pray for their extended family
• Pray God would give the Doc’s supernatural wisdom
